Pulled Veggie for Talking, 2 Visits with Granny, Busy

Max woke up early this morning. He and Daddy watched Caillou before getting ready for school. Max wore the most adorable purple shirt since it was Purple Day at his school. Max had a good day at school except for pulling a veggie for talking. He did to go to the treasure box for the week. He chose a spinning top from the class treasure box.

After school Daddy and Max headed to the Granny’s for some lunch and to visit. Max wasn’t in the best mood and was quite destructive. When Max and Daddy left for home it was past time for Max’s nap.

Max went back to Granny’s while I went to PTA tonight and Daddy did a photoshoot. Max and Granny did some drawing during their visit. When I picked him up he was excited to show me what they had drawn.

When we got home Max asked for a snack and I also got us a popsicle. I showed Max how to push it up and he learned quickly. Then he said, “I’m a genius.” He’s not kidding—he really is!

We’re all about to get our baths and hit the hay. It’s been a very busy day.

Good Day at School, Visiting Granny, Taking a Long Nap

Max didn’t want to get up and get started this morning because he had way too much fun yesterday. Daddy had a hard time getting lil’ fellow to get ready in a hurry to go to school on time. Luckily they made just in time.

Maxipoo had a good day at school and got a sticker for his good behavior. His teacher, Mrs Eileen, wasn’t there today, but Mrs Sarah was. According to Max Mrs Eileen is sick. If that’s the case we hope she feels better soon.

When Daddy picked Max up from school they went to Granny’s. Granny and Daddy had a really hard time getting Maxipoo to eat his lunch. We believe they celebrated classmate Mayzie’s birthday today and the lil’ fellow wasn’t hungry.

Max took a nice long four-and-a-half-hour nap today. While Max napped I did, too. I fell asleep on our hardwood floor, so I must have been tired.

When Max got up we asked him what he wanted for dinner, and his reply was “Cheez-Its.” Well, we didn’t go with his suggestion for the main course, but he did get a few. We were starting to get low on our Cheez-Its supply, so Daddy made a Walmart run and bought a box of each flavor of Cheez-Its except Pepper Jack. This made Maxipoo’s day!

We’re all about to call it a night.

Strawberry Festival at Washington Farms, Spending Night with Mimi & Grandpa

It’s been another big day in Maxland. We got off to a slow start this morning but really picked up the pace before lunch. Grandpa brought us breakfast from Bojangles. After breakfast Max and I got ready to go pick up Granny to go to the Strawberry Festival at Washington Farms near Athens.

A lot of other people had the same plan for the day. There were so many people there. Uncle Jack, Aunt Jean, and Cousin Linda met us there. The Strawberry Festival had so many fun things to do, especially for kids. Max got to ride a cow train, jump on jump pillow, go down farm slides, and ride on a hayride, just to name a few. Thinking of all we did today makes me tired.

Uncle Jack was super-sweet and bought Max an airplane on a stick made out of soda cans. Max and Uncle Jack played and played with it until Max could longer stand up. He was so excited about his airplane. Thanks, Uncle Jack and Aunt Jean!

The highlight of the Strawberry Festival was picking our own strawberries. Max was a very good strawberry picker. Together we picked an entire bucket. I have to say, picking all those strawberries nearly did me in. It was super-hot and I was carrying a bucket, a big and heavy camera, and wearing high heel flip-flops. I was so glad to finally fill our bucket. The strawberries were so yummy, so it was worth it.

When we made it to Granny’s it wasn’t long before Daddy and Grandpa came over. They brought the ping-pong table from our basement to Granny’s basement to use to build Max’s model railroad. Granny also gave Grandpa a haircut while he was there.

We carried Mimi some of our freshly picked strawberries and Max stayed with her and Grandpa. He’s spending the night with them. Jaddie and I plan to sleep late in the morning.

Good Day at School, Playing with Granny & Mimi

Max and Daddy both awoke to their iPhone alarm this morning and watched Caillou before heading to school. Max got a sticker at school today for his good behavior. When he got in the van he wanted to go with Granny’s for lunch. After lunch he stayed and played with Granny until I picked him up after school.

When we came home Max ran around like a wild man. It wasn’t long before Mimi came over for a visit. She asked Max to go home with her to play ball, so he did. Jaddie and I took that opportunity to go out to eat.

Daddy went to a model railroad-building class tonight and Max and I have been hanging out together.

Gwinnett Environmental & Heritage Center

We’ve had a great day! Daddy went to a detailing clinic and Max and I went to an Earth Day Festival. The Earth Day event was at the Gwinnett Environmental and Heritage Center near our house. They had so many fun things for us to do. We got to make T-shirts, play games, and check out their water exhibits. Another thing Max liked were the Hershey Kisses they let you eat to recycle the wrapper. Max kept circling back around for more saying, “I need to recycle.” But the highlight of the day was watching an astronaut movie in a giant bubble. Max and I both thought that was super-fun.

When Max and I left the Earth Day event we went to Mimi’s to go to lunch with her. After we had lunch we came back to her house to play baseball. Max is getting so good at batting. He can really hit it hard. After playing for a while Max was getting very cranky, so we came home for his nap. He was so tired that he slept for five hours, which is the longest he’s napped in months. I guess the naps he’d skipped lately all caught up him.

While Max napped Mimi and I went to the movies to see The Lucky One, and it was great! We also went to Chili’s for dinner.

Shortly after I got home Max woke up. Lil’ fellow awoke with the appetite of a hungry bear. I made grilled cheeses for Daddy and Max.

We’re about to get our baths and put a lid on another day.

Cranky Sunday

We think lil’ fellow got up on the wrong side of the bed this morning. He was very cranky! As we headed to Granny’s for breakfast he seemed to get better, but by the time we arrived he was cranky again.

Max wasn’t much for eating this morning. He was more about playing. He played and played most of the afternoon. While I went to the grocery store Max stayed with Granny and Daddy. Daddy worked on cleaning Granny’s car’s wheels and watered Granny’s garden while Granny and Max played. They stayed for a long time. I almost sent out a search party. They finally arrived home around three. Max and I played ball while Daddy got a shower.

Grandpa came over this afternoon and had Jaddie work on his computer. Max and Grandpa played a little ball while they waited for Daddy to fix Grandpa’s computer.

Max took a nice nap this afternoon and when he got up he, Grandpa, and I went to Mrs Wigley’s to play kickball. We had a lot of fun. Grandpa is leaving for South Georgia tomorrow, and we’ll miss him. Max is staying with him tonight. Of course we already miss our little buddy.

Max and Grandpa went to Bojangles for breakfast this morning. He and Grandpa hung out until Mimi and Max went to Bogan Park. Mimi blew bubbles for Max and some other kids, and they had a blast. Max stayed with Mimi and Grandpa because I went to Collins Hill High School to see children’s book author Lester Laminack. I really enjoyed listening to him speak. I was also fortunate enough to get his autograph and to get my picture made with him.

When Max got home from the park we watched a little Caillou before Max took his nap. Max enjoyed a two-and-a-half-hour nap. When he got up he wasn’t in the best mood and had to serve multiple timeouts.

Daddy, Max, and I enjoyed watching and learning about the fun things we can do when we visit Disney World this summer. Max was super-excited about the runaway train ride. He was also very excited about Splash Mountain. We only have a little over fifty days before our trip and we can’t wait!

After our baths we’re going to turn in for the night. We’re all a little tired and hope to get a good night’s rest.

Good Day at School, Good Nap, Visiting Granny

Max got up at 8:25 this morning. He was cranky from not having a nap yesterday and didn’t want to go to school. During his crankiness he hit Daddy and lost his trains for tomorrow. Daddy reminded him that today was his class’s day for their treasure box, and that got lil’ fellow excited about going to school!

Max had a good day at school today and got to choose a prize for his class’s treasure box. His classmate Trinity gave him her ball from the treasure box. That was very sweet of her. Max got a sticker every day at school. He didn’t pull any veggies. We are so proud!

When Max got home from school he had lunch and then was ready to go upstairs to watch something on the media player. Then he took his nap. Lil’ fellow was super-tired from not getting his nap yesterday. He enjoyed a three-hour nap.

He and Daddy went to Granny’s when he got up from his nap. Daddy worked on Granny’s car’s wheels with his new steam cleaner that arrived today.

When Max and Daddy get home Max and I played ball while Daddy got a shower. Then Max and I got our baths. Now the three of us are about to turn in for the night.

Easter, Spending Night with Mimi & Grandpa

When Max woke this morning and realized that the Easter bunny had been to visit him, he had to quickly make his way downstairs. The Easter bunny had left his paw prints leading to our hearth, where he’d left Max’s Easter basket full of treats. Max was so excited! At first he didn’t locate any toys and asked where they were. Then he found a nicely wrapped gift the Easter bunny had left for him. Inside was a fancy HO Norfolk Southern diesel engine. That really put a smile on his face.

Max looked so handsome when he headed out for church this morning. He was sporting a tie and an argyle vest. I snapped some pictures before he left and a little later I met him there. Daddy and Granny got lunch ready while we were gone. We had a great lunch and then had a big Easter egg hunt for Max at Mrs Wigley’s house at the end of our neighborhood. He had a big time hunting his eggs. He wanted to open them before putting them in his basket. Daddy took a lot of pictures and we’ll share them soon.

Max and I enjoyed a nap together this afternoon. When we awoke it wasn’t long before Mimi and Grandpa returned for dinner. Max and Grandpa played chase while we cleaned the kitchen.

Max went to spend the night with Mimi and Grandpa and we already miss him immensely! When lil’ fellow left, he was crying, “Don’t leave me. Don’t leave me,” and this broke our hearts. I phoned twice to check on him and he was doing well.

We had a great Easter together.

Another Day with Mimi & Grandpa

Max has had another fun day. After getting up he got ready and spent the day with Mimi and Grandpa. They did all sorts of things. They played ball, rode on the golf cart, and visited neighbors. Mimi and Grandpa took Max to lunch at Steak ’n Shake. They said he was well-behaved all through lunch.

This afternoon Mimi took Maxipoo to Bogan Park. At the park they were invited to join a church party and egg hunt. They had clowns, games, cotton candy, slushies, and much, much more. Mimi was very resourceful and found a sand bucket in the trunk of her car for Max to use for hunting eggs. Max found fifteen eggs! He came home with a bucket full of candy and a balloon. He said he had so much fun.

When Max got home the two of us took a two-and-a-half hour nap. When we awoke I had a fever, so I went to the urgent care facility next to our house. They said I had a urinary tract infection. I was in and out in less than an hour. That was great. They even sold me my antibiotic there. What service!

Max has been sweet. He said, “I’ll take care if you.” I’ve been getting kisses and pats on the back. What a sweet boy!

After our bath we read The Night Before Easter and Ralph the Rabbit before watching the Berenstein Bears’ Springtime Surprises. Max is so excited about the Easter bunny’s coming tonight.

We’re about to hit the hay so the Easter bunny can hop our way.
